August New Releases

Here are some of the books I can’t wait to read in August? Are your must reads on this list too??

1. Burning Up Anthology by Angela Knight, Nalini Singh, Virginia Kantra,
and Meljean Brooks
Publish Date: 8/3/10
Publisher: Berkley

Who isn’t excited for the new steampunk series Meljean Brooks is debuting in this anthology? Plus, any little thing I can get from Nalini and her Psy-Changeling series I will take!!

Bring these four authors together and it's sure to ignite a spark...

Angela Knight pairs a vampire warrior and his seductive captor in a battle against demonic predators.

Nalini Singh returns to the world of her Psy-Changeling series as a woman in lethal danger finds an unlikely protector-and lover.

Virginia Kantra continues the haunting tales of the Children of the Sea in her story of a wounded soldier rescued by an enigmatic young woman.

Meljean Brook launches a bold new steampunk series about a woman who strikes a provocative-and terrifying-bargain for freedom.

2. Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole

I absolutely love the Immortals After Dark Series, and Carrow is going to for sure be one fantastic heroine. If you haven’t read the excerpt yet on Cole’s website, go do it now!!

A dangerous demon she can't resist...
Malkom Slaine: tormented by his sordid past and racked by vampiric hungers, he's pushed to the brink by the green-eyed beauty under his guard.

A maddening witch he aches to claim...
Carrow Graie: hiding her own sorrows, she lives only for the next party or prank. Until she meets a tortured warrior worth saving.

Trapped together in a savage prison...
For them to survive, Malkom must unleash both the demon and vampire inside him. When he becomes the nightmare his own people feared, will he lose the woman he craves body and soul?

3. Finding Perfect by Susan Mallery
Publish Date: 8/31/10
Publisher: HQN

I love all things Susan Mallery, and this is no exception. The return of Raoul from the Bakery Sisters Series was a super pleasant surprise, and this book is awesome (I got a sneak peak!)

Pia was your typical popular girl in high school – she made friends easily, cheered on the squad, and had her share of dates with the school jocks. But she’s always had a hard time committing to something, or someone.

So when her best friend Crystal succumbs to cancer, Pia is devastated, but also shocked by the inheritance her friend has left her – her frozen embryos! Pia’s in a quandary. It’s not like she can just throw them away. But is she really capable of being responsible for another human being?

For once, Pia throws caution to the wind and decides to embrace Crystal’s legacy. But as she struggles with her decision, another complication arises that Pia is totally unprepared for. She finally meets the man of her dreams…and her life becomes more confusing than she ever thought possible.

4. Corralled by Lorelei James
Publish Date: 8/3/10
Publisher: NAL

Who doesn’t love the Rough Riders Series? Well this new series by James I’m sure will not disappoint! Plus, who doesn’t love hot cowboys??

First in a new series about some hard-riding rodeo cowboys...and the women who can rein them in.

Sports therapist Lainie Capshaw has been rehabilitating injured cowboys long enough to know that a charming western drawl combined with a fine physical form doesn't mean you fall for the man.

So no one is more surprised than Lainie when she finds herself involved with not one, but two different men: Hank Lawson, a bullfighter, and Kyle Gilchrist, a bull rider. Lainie feels guilty about her two-timing, but it doesn't keep her from doubling her fun-that is until Hank catches her with Kyle.

She's shocked that Hank isn't mad. But she's more shocked to learn Hank and Kyle are hometown buddies. But when the men offer to share her-in every way-she knows that she's going to have to choose the one man who can give her the ride of her life...

5. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
Publish Date: 8/31/10
Publisher: HarperTeen

While I’m not usually a huge fan on YA books, I have heard nothing but great things about this book, plus the cover is so incredible. I can’t wait to just stare at it for awhile!

Sixteen-year-old Evie's job is bagging and tagging paranormals. Possessing the strange ability to see through their glamours, she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency. But when someone--or something--starts taking out the vamps, werewolves, and other odd beasties she's worked hard to help become productive members of society, she's got to figure it out before they all disappear and the world becomes utterly normal.

Normal is so overrated.

Thanks for mentioning FINDING PERFECT! I'm thrilled that you loved the book. Anyone who wants a sneak peek should check out the Fool's Gold website, www.foolsgoldca.com

The site has free excerpts, videos, photos of the characters, a map of the town... and lots of fun between-the-books news stories. In the latest story, you get to see pictures of Josh & Charity's wedding, the characters from CHASING PERFECT.

Thanks again!!! :)
